Welcome to our popular When Seconds Count  “When YOU are the help until help arrives” course.  A 90 minute informational class for a broad audience appropriate for all ages.  We have found many people do not need a certificate card to put in their wallet, but do want to be prepared for common medical emergencies in the home and workplace.  In a quick 1 ½ hours the course covers:

  • CPR, Giving compressions & breaths
  • How to use an AED
  • Choking
  • Bleeding control
  • Fainting/Seizures
  • Diabetic emergencies
  • Opioid overdose/Narcan
  • Allergic reactions – Anaphylaxis – Epi-Pens
  • Concussions
  • Nose bleeds
  • And more..

 The class is informal and we welcome questions from students, but very much “hands-on” with CPR practice on Adult, Child and Infant manikins providing compressions and breaths, Use of Epi-Pen and Narcan trainers, and controlling bleeding with gauze, direct pressure and bandages.
