Learn from home! Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED teaches participants how to give first aid, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and use an automated external defibrillator safely and effectively. This online course is provided as part of the American Heart Association Blended Learning program.
How Blended Learning Works
The certification process is structured into three distinct parts:
- Part 1 (Online Cognitive Portion): Students complete the lecture, video demonstrations, and theoretical knowledge checks online. This is done at your own pace from home or work via the AHA eLearning platform
- Part 2 (In-Person Skills Practice): Students meet face-to-face with an authorized instructor to practice physical chest compressions, breaths, and AED utilization.
- Part 3 (In-Person Skills Testing): The instructor evaluates the student’s physical proficiency.
NOTE: YOU WILL RECEIVE A SEPARATE EMAIL THAT WILL CONTAIN A LINK TO THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION ONLINE COURSE
Participants are required to complete the online training PRIOR to the in-person skill-based class. Participants must provide proof of completion upon arrival.
IMPORTANT: Participants must provide proof of completion upon arrival. Students without completed online certificates will be refused entry into the classroom. Instructors will accept a printed copy or an image of the certificate on your phone.
I understand that I am signing up for a blended learning class, which includes an initial online course and it is my responsibility to complete the online course before my scheduled class.
